Christmas Wishes For Friends
Christmas time is almost upon us. It is time to enjoy yourself with friends and family. Many of us will exchange gifts over this period, however, I have often received gifts which were thoughtful and which were not meant to be gifts. These gifts were, in many respects, more valuable than the gifts received which were supposed to be gifts.
Gifts are very personal. We all want to receive gifts that are thoughtful and personal gifts. Trust is a big issue. For example, I want my friends to be able to trust me. I want to be able to trust them with what is said in confidence. I automatically decide that they are trustworthy when I receive something from them and they act in a way that tells me they are trustworthy.
Trust is the heart of friends. Trust is what brings people together. We can trust our friends with our thoughts, opinions, preferences and secrets. It is important that we bond on a deeper level through our trust.
A Christmas wish is a gift that you can give to your friend that is heartfelt and which will touch their heart.
The Gift of Trust
I have received many gifts of trust. The gift that touched me most was a gift of trust. It was given to me at a time when I was being bullied at school. Bullying is a serious issue and affects those unfortunate enough to be bullied. In my early schooling, I had a relatively happy life. I soon found that I was being bullied. I was continually picked on and bullied. It was tough. I was too young to understand the full seriousness of the situation.
However, I started to tell my mum. I told her every time. Each time I told her I told her who it was. My mum, being a trusting person, trusted me. She promised that if she told the teacher of the bully, then he would stop and leave me alone. I was so relieved and felt like she was my best friend.
I wanted to tell her more. But I didn’t want to risk being picked on again. Yet, whenever I talked to her about the situation, she would tell me not to worry and to ignore it. I felt engulfed over the situation.
All of a sudden, on Christmas Day, I started to get gifts. These gifts were gifts of trust. My closest friends had noticed the change in me and let me know. They noticed that I was doing something that to me did not feel like me. They were doing something that for me was not normal. Suddenly, they were there for me. They came to me and said, “We know. We will be there.”
On Christmas day, I stood there in their kitchen at my aunt’s house and opened their magnificent gift box. Slowly, one gift after another was revealed. The gifts were things that they wanted me to have. Each gift was to open the box, take a look and say, “These are for you, we wish you the best.”
Each and every gift was a Christmas present for me, even if I did not see it and it was a surprise. Each gift was a Christmas present covered in love. To me, this was unimaginable. I had no words for such love. This love reached deep in my soul. I felt wanted, loved and protected.
